Bunches of LIttle Things

I had three days to work this weekend, but nothing of real importance got done. Well everything is important, I guess I should say, nothing of real excitement.

I did some more varnishing of doors. Most of them are hung. I put door knobs on all of the hung doors. They look pretty nice.

I also put the electrical outlets in my island and wired the timer and thermostat units for my heated floor mats. I have a 7 day timer to turn my heating mats on and off so I don't have cold feet in the morning when I get out of bed. And I can set it for a bit later in the morning on Saturdays and Sundays. :) I'd been procrastinating on that a bit...but I finally took the time and got it done today.

I also put some window hardware on the windows that I could. So some of them are all done with the cranks and latches attached. Some of them need the extension jambs installed so I can finish that job.

Dad worked on getting my master shower ready for tile. I think he's ready to start putting backer board down after today. I have a liner and a waterproof barrier on the walls.

I arrived at my house Friday morning to find a PLUMBER there! I almost wasn't able to work I was so shocked! It was just one man, but he worked all day and got some copper run. And he left his tools there, so I'm hoping that means he's coming back tomorrow. Let's keep our fingers crossed, but not hold our breath. We'd be turning blue pretty quick I think! :)

Anyway...that's it for this week. I'm sorry I've been being lax on my posts, but as I said at the beginning...nothing real exciting has been happening. So as I have new pictures I'll post them.

Still Staining...

I spent the weekend staining and varnishing more doors. Fortunately I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! I have one more coat of varnish to put on 5 doors and then three more to stain and varnish. I will be really excited when that is done!

Dad and I also installed the laundry room counter top also.

I was supposed to have a crew of plumbers out to the house to finish up a lot of the work...but alas...none of them showed up. So I'm still waiting for plumbing.

Rick should be out this weekend to measure to make patterns for counter tops. So in the next few weeks I should have kitchen counter tops and be able to put in the rest of my kitchen cabinets. That should be a pretty big change in the kitchen area.

So that's all for this week. This coming weekend we have a wedding on Saturday...and Dad and I have to work on Friday...so we might not get a whole lot done. We'll see how it goes though.
