2 Turtle Doves?

Well I'm already behind at putting up my posts for my 12 Days of Christmas swap!  That is due to the fact that I'm lazy and haven't taken the pictures off my camera.  And who wants to hear about presents but not see them?

Day 2 I was excited to come home from work to open my present!  It was a beautiful sparkly Christmas Tree ornament!  I love getting new ornaments for my tree!

Want to see what I sent to Sarah?  Follow her blog here!

12 Days of Christmas Swap - Day 1

As I've mentioned in other posts my friend Janna and her friend Kenz put together a Christmas Swap for people who follow their blogs.  I decided to join in the fun.  I had a great time picking out gifts for my partner Sarah

Yesterday I came home to a box on my front porch filled with all kinds of neatly wrapped gifts!  I was so excited to open it!  I wanted to open all the gifts at once...but I guess that's my impatience...and the 2 year old in me.  :)  I was able to restrain myself and open only the first one.

In it I knew Sarah was a girl after my own heart.  Among the Resee's Peanutbutter cups and Tootsie rolls (two of my FAVORITE candies) there was a small bottle of hand sanitizer and some hand cream.  I love my hand sanitizer...and carry it with me in my purse all the time.  And I was just thinking how dry my hands are with the cold winter weather coming!

Washington DC Trip

Alright...I guess I do have non boring, fun things in my life that I can share!

For those of you that don't know, I started running last spring. At first it was simply a way to try to shed the pounds and get in shape. As the gasping and burning legs slowly gave way to just difficult breathing I sound that on most days I enjoy it. I never thought I'd hear that come out of my mouth.

I knew I would need something to keep me motivated to run...so I started out with a local race...it was hell. I then continued doing about one race a month. Then some crazy friend of mine in Atlanta decided she was doing the Marine Corps Marathon in DC in October and thought I should come down to do the 10k that goes with it. Since I had never been to DC I thought it would be a great excuse for a vacation.

The trip, the race, everything was awesome! J finished her marathon and beat the bridge. I had a great run!
I took a few extra days and went down with my girlfriend Jenny. We stayed with her aunt and uncle outside of town. What a fun week. We took a Segway tour of all the main attractions, which was pretty frickin cool! We went up in the Washington Monument. We walked the entire city of Washington DC throughout the 5 days I think. We saw an amazing dance show at the Kennedy Theater. Even found some time for this Michigan fan to watch the Michigan/Penn State football game with 4 Penn State fans. It was a sad day for this Wolverine. We went to the zoo to see the pandas. I even got my geek on at the American History Museum with C3PO.

Pre Segway Trip...Don't we look hot in our helmets?
On our segways at the White House
Sunset at the Jefferson Memorial
Race Expo...who knew one could spend so much money at these things???
It's not my man R2D2...but he'll have to do. Anything Star Wars is ok by me.
Doesn't he look so cute and cuddly???

Reason to Blog

I've been looking for a new reason to blog since I finished my house. I really don't think people want to read about the mundane details of my life and I'm not a creative writer the the Redneck Mommy or Jenn. I don't have kids who do fun things...although I do have a dog now who is just as close. :)

But my friend Janna and her friend Kenz are sponsoring a 12 Days of Christmas swap. I read about it on Janna's blog and it sounded so fun. One of the requirements is that you have to blog so you can share your fun presents!

If you are interested in joining us go check out the program here!
